Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About Beach Boudoir
Want to take your boudoir session to the next level? Beach boudoir adds an extra level of glamour and fun, but these sessions are also a little different from a regular boudoir shoot. I’ll answer some of the most common questions I get about beach boudoir and help you decide if one of these unique sessions is right for you!
What time would my session be?
These sessions are shot at sunrise, so be prepared to get up bright and early! The best light and best color occur around 6:30 a.m. Plus, there are almost no people on the beach that early in the morning, so we don’t have to worry about anyone wandering through your photos or intruding on your intimate, sexy moments.
Since we start shooting at sunrise, that means we begin doing hair and makeup at 4 a.m. This gives us plenty of time to make sure you’re looking fabulous and to get to the beach before the sun comes up.
Do you do beach boudoir sessions all year?
These sessions are only available in the summer because warm water is critical! After all, it’s hard to feel sexy and confident when you’re freezing your butt off. I also only do one beach boudoir session a week because, just like you, I need my beauty sleep.
How messy are beach boudoir sessions?
The short answer? Very. You will definitely get wet and sandy, but that’s all part of the fun! Just be sure to bring a towel and a change of clothes, so you can get out of your wet outfit and into something more comfortable when we’re finished.
Will the image reveal be the same day?
Unlike with studio boudoir photos, your beach boudoir image reveal will either be later in the day or even a few days later. We’ll both be exhausted after the session, and trust me, you want me to be fully rested when I’m editing your gorgeous images!
What should I wear for a beach boudoir session?
Choosing outfits for the beach is a little different than picking out studio outfits, but it can still be tons of fun! Here are a few suggestions for what to wear for your beach session:
- A bikini
- A flowy white or cream-colored shirt
- A white tank top or T-shirt
- A bodysuit
- A comfy sweater
These are just a few ideas, but you don’t have to stick to this list! Think about what outfits make you feel sexy and confident, and we can talk about options before your session.
